MANOWCE PALACE, POLAND
Explorers that are truly looking to get away from it all can’t do better than this five-star historic hideaway. Tucked away in northwestern Poland – surrounded by lush woods and on the brink of the Baltic Sea – it’s the perfect place for those who prize peace and quiet. It has a unique past, too. Built in the 20th century, this property has been everything from a home to a summer camp. Now, it plays host to weddings, conventions and events, and can be rented out by guests for exclusive use. A perfect private paradise.
BLUE HAVEN HOTEL, IRELAND
This cosy and petite four-star boutique hotel – with only sixteen exclusive rooms – is based in historic Kinsale. Originally a medieval fishing port, Kinsale is now known as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland – a title this locale takes very seriously. Boasting an amazing array of places to eat and drink on-site – including a Fish Market Bistro and bar, where guests can enjoy whiskey and craft beer tasting boards – there are plenty of ways to treat your tastebuds while under its historic roof.
OLD BANK HOUSE, IRELAND
Also based in Kinsale, this luxury Georgian getaway makes for a spectacular stay. It was originally a bank on the Kinsale waterway, but now, this guesthouse offers unrestricted comfort to travellers from around the world – and from its seventeen tasteful rooms to delicious dining options, acts as the perfect home away from home. Kinsale itself also has a lot to offer, including some fascinating museums, horse riding and a castle.
HOTEL PARK, NORWAY
This family-run hotel caters to travelling groups of all sizes, and offers 35 beautiful rooms along with eight expansive apartments. Decorated with bright, cosy furnishings and cultural tchotchkes throughout, the space reflects the family’s own love of travel while providing an idyllic and interesting setting for its guests. This hotel even provides a homemade breakfast each morning – the perfect way to start the day before exploring the fascinating streets of Bergen, or taking a trip to the gorgeous fjords and mountains that surround the historic city.
